DescriptionAxel's ideal home
Axel is looking for a home with adopters who can give him all the time and patience he needs to adjust to his new life, provide him with lots of fun adventures and give him lots of love and attention in the home to help him settle. He would prefer a home in a quieter area where he can be provided with a predictable routine and calm environment to help him settle. Any children in his home should be 16 years and over and be sensible when interacting with him, understanding when he needs quiet time and space to rest and unwind. Axel really comes out of his shell with another dog around, so although not essential, he would really benefit from living alongside another confident and established canine companion who can help show him the ropes in his new home. He cannot live with cats or small animals. When it comes to being on his own, Axel does struggle a little bit, so he would ideally have adopters that are always home and can give him lots of company every day and who are willing to work on his leaving time with a gradual approach once he is fully settled in. Axel walks nicely on his lead and harness but needs to build a bit of confidence on his walks. Axel will need to meet his adopters a few times and build a strong bond with his adopters prior to going home so please bear this in mind when applying. If you rent your property, please have written permission from your landlord ready once you have submitted your application to avoid delays, as it will be required early on in the rehoming process if you are shortlisted. Please note that should you be shortlisted, our rehoming process usually takes between 7 - 10 days.
Could you be Axel's perfect match?
Axel is a gorgeous 4 year old German Shepherd and Border Collie Cross who is a brilliant blend of fun and loving! He loves to explore on walks with lots of sniffs and loves to engage in fun activities; we think he could be a superstar with fun obedience training! Although he runs after toys, he doesn’t quite know what to do once he gets to them, but we think with fun games, he will soon get the hang of what to do! He loves a tasty treat and this will be a great way to engage him in training and to build a lovely, positive bond with him. Once all his play time and exploring time is done, he loves nothing more than a snuggle on the sofa!
