AIGO

Handsome Aigo is in need of a very special home. He came to the centre via an Inspector due to concerns for his welfare. Aigo has had an extremely poor and unsettled start to life which has left him struggling to trust people. He is a very nervous dog when meeting new people and although it takes a bit of time to gain his trust, he is a very affectionate boy once he knows you.

He enjoys cuddles with staff in his kennel and short periods of time off lead in our paddocks. Aigo has also missed out on a lot of early training and socialisation and doesn’t know how to interact respectfully towards other dogs. This is something the team are working on and would be something potential adopters would benefit from carrying on at home. Due to this Aigo would have to be the only animal in the household.

Due to an accident before arrival at the centre, Aigo had to have surgery to amputate his left hind leg. He has adjusted very well to life with three legs and is slowly building up muscle on his remaining hind leg as his exercise has been increased. Aigo has been attending weekly hydro therapy sessions which has helped greatly as well as building his confidence having some time away from the kennel environment. More information on Aigo’s treatment history and exercise requirements can be discussed when viewing him.

Previous GSD experience is required, preferably with experience of working with reactive dogs. Aigo will require multiple visits as he does take time to trust new faces so we are looking to rehome him in the local area.
