Axil

Axil's ideal home

Axil doesn't enjoy being in the vicinity of other dogs and needs a family who will continue ongoing training with him, once home. He has has some problems with his legs and could require some repeat visits to our vet, post adoption, and won't be able to live in a flat. He will also be on medication for the rest of his life. Adopters must also be committed to visiting him a few times at the centre before taking him home, as well as working with our behaviour team to set him up for success in his new home.

Could you be Axil's perfect match?

Axil is a wonderful German Shepherd but he isn't at all suited to a kennel environment, even though he has been at the centre since early 2020. When he's away from the centre, he's able to relax and focus on his handlers, leaning into them for comfort and reassurance, as well as a bit of a fuss, and he's had the odd sleepover with volunteers. Axil loves to chase after toys and this is his favourite outlet to forget his worries. He'd love to find an experienced family who can teach him about life and take him on adventures. He's still so young and has spent half his life in kennels, but he is still friendly and affectionate with people he's familiar with.
